40-minute interview explaining what motivates me, how I see Islamic finance, and advice for younger people.
Recorded 11 September 2019. Posted 10 November 2019.
My website makes me very easy to contact. Earlier this year I was approached by Ibrahim Khan, Co-Founder of Islamic Finance Guru for an interview about how I got into Islamic finance and where I believe the industry is going.
Ibrahim was also interested in what motivated me in retirement, and what messages I had for younger Muslims. You can watch it below.
Islamic Finance Guru has a YouTube channel, and can also be found as an audio podcast "Millionaire Muslim" which can be found on Apple Podcasts, Podbean, Stitcher, and other podcasting platforms.

The 40-minute recording below covers a lot of ground, some of which is touched on in my existing writings. Some signposts:
How going on Hajj made me realise how generous God has been to me, and discover how I wanted to spend my life in retirement.
How I got into accounting and into Islamic finance.
I also mentioned the two books I was reading at the time. "People of the Book: An Interfaith Dialogue about How Jews, Christians and Muslims Understand Their Sacred Scriptures" by George D. Chryssides, Usama Hasan and Dan Cohn-Sherbok; and "Islam and Nazi Germany's War" by David Motadel.
