An interesting conversation every fortnight, tackling some difficult questions.

I am not a neutral reviewer of the podcast “The Rabbi, The Imam and The Power of Dialogue”!
I have known the imam, Nasser Kurdy, for many years. Indeed I learned about the podcast directly from him in December. Both of us were guests at a reception in Manchester Central Library to celebrate the 5th night of Chanukah hosted by the Jewish Leadership Council and the Jewish Representative Council for Greater Manchester and Region.
I also met the rabbi, Dovid Lewis, in November at a Mitzvah Day event that his synagogue, South Manchester, was hosting.
The podcast began in May 2025, and releases a new episode roughly once per fortnight. The format is Nasser and Dovid simply talking with each other, although they may have guests in the future.
After learning about the podcast in December, I listened to every episode, starting from the first one. They don't date.
The most recent one, "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" was exceptionally moving. It was recorded on Monday 15 December, the day after the Bondi Beach attack. Rabbi Dovid's second cousin, Rabbi Eli Schlanger, was one of the victims.
I listen to it on Apple Podcasts. It is of course available on other podcast platforms, including:
I recommend the podcast to everyone. Muslims will learn about Judaism, and vice versa.
Perhaps even more important, you can hear how to have difficult conversations where the two parties start from very different positions.
